What is the Detroit Festival of Books?

The Detroit Festival of Books is the largest book festival in the State of Michigan.

We have vendors from all over the USA, Canada, and other countries.

It is a goodwill effort to help generate a deeper love and appreciation of books .

This event is indoor/outdoor, cold/warm, rain/shine.

Vendors keep 100% of their proceeds.

What is the cost of admission?

Admission is FREE and open to the general public!

The 2026 Local Author and Artists Event will take place on Thursday, July 16 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the sidewalk alongside the Sterling Heights Public Library. Come out to talk with local authors, get a peek at their work and purchase autographed books!

Bring the kids for an afternoon of fun, stories, and crafts as we explore themes of kindness, courage, and forgiveness.

Elf Shelf is the Troy Women's Association's main fund raising project.  This annual event has become one of the largest and most popular of its kind in southeastern Michigan.  The Elf Shelf Arts & Crafts Show is held the Saturday after Thanksgiving at Troy High School.  The revenue from the show allows TWA to serve the needs of our community in many ways including:

• Local area civic and charitable organizations

• Troy schools projects

• Regional youth organizations

• Scholarships for local high school and adult women​

Elf Shelf features 200 booths of crafters who make a variety of handcrafted items.  Crafters must complete an application form and be juried to be accepted for the show.  Refer to the documents below for more information including jury requirements.
