Troy Women’s Association - Elf Shelf

Elf Shelf is the Troy Women's Association's main fund raising project.  This annual event has become one of the largest and most popular of its kind in southeastern Michigan.  The Elf Shelf Arts & Crafts Show is held the Saturday after Thanksgiving at Troy High School.  The revenue from the show allows TWA to serve the needs of our community in many ways including:

  • Local area civic and charitable organizations

  • Troy schools projects

  • Regional youth organizations

  • Scholarships for local high school and adult women​

Elf Shelf features 200 booths of crafters who make a variety of handcrafted items.  Crafters must complete an application form and be juried to be accepted for the show.  Refer to the documents below for more information including jury requirements.

Join local kid-lit authors from A Pop of Indie for a week-long course on creating and publishing children's books. Best suited for 1st to 5th grade students, this course will introduce kids to the world of writing picture books. The goal of this class will be to engage and enlighten students in the writing and illustration process. Throughout the week, they will learn the brainstorming, story drafting and editing processes, and the illustration and character development part of picture books. With author Q&A's, crafts, writing activities, and story time sessions during the week, students get to learn firsthand from published authors on how to create stories that have a lasting impression. There is a story time celebration for parents to attend at the end of the week where students get to showcase their newly created picture books. The camp price includes all supplies and materials necessary for creating their very own picture. Campers should bring a snack, a water bottle, and their imagination.
